How it all started

As gamers who live and experience gaming in 2022, we used to play mobile games or PC games with an internet connection to them. But looking back to the beginning of the game’s emergence, the game looks so much different from how it looks now. It all began when computer scientists created the first simulations and simple games on minicomputers and mainframe computers in the 1950s and 1960s.

In 1972, the very first arcade game in the world was released. They named it Pong. The game soon became famous among kids and adults who visit stores or restaurants to play the game. In the same era, due to its popularity, the Pong console game version is created so more people could play it in the comfort of their own homes.

The year 1978 to 1982 is considered the Golden Age of Arcade Game. Several games were best-selling in this period such as Space Invaders, Galaxian, Pac-man, Donkey Kong, etc. Around the year 1986 to 1990, the PC game started to thrive along with the rising number of personal computers usages.

Nintendo, PlayStation, and SEGA were three companies that were competing to develop new game technologies and sell the most game products since the year the 1990s. From 1996 to 2000 interactive games such as Dance Dance Revolution were also introduced.

In the early 2000s, social network games like Happy Farm rose as social media sites grew. Social network games typically rely on users to interact with their friends via social media sites to gain a form of “energy” to continue to play. The first renowned mobile game that you probably know was Snake which Nokia introduced. But with the development of smartphones in 2005, mobile gaming has become a more exciting and promising field to work on. The era where the internet system reign the gaming world and thus allows online collaboration between players is called the web 2.0 era.

If we’re talking about game technology, we have to talk about Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) systems too. VR technology has been in development since the early 1990s but due to its high cost, it was only able to be introduced to the consumer in the early 2010s. The introduction of VR was led by Sony who released their PlayStation VR in 2015. While AR-based games reach their peak with the release of Pokemon Go in 2016 which combined AR tech with location-based games.

Gaming Evolution Eizper Chain

In early 2020, a blockchain system was introduced to the gaming world to help improve the prior game currency systems. This is thanks to the popularity of the metaverse concept which has captivated a lot of people. The implementation of cryptocurrency and blockchain systems in the gaming world marks the beginning of web 3.0. This new system brought positive and negative feedback from many people. Despite all of the pros and cons, the interest in the metaverse and blockchain gaming keeps growing and brings hope toward the platform shifting from a traditional system.

Since the beginning of its emergence, blockchain game has been stereotyped as gaming that is played solely to earn money. This happened due to the “play to earn” idea being heavily implemented in every aspect of the game but forgetting one important aspect that every game should possess. The fun aspect is one of the things that was missing from blockchain games to attract traditional gamers to join the era of web 3.0 games.

Eizper Chain is a blockchain game that realizes that the fun aspect is essential and shouldn’t be forgotten when creating a captivating game. Unlike any other blockchain-based game, Eizper Chain thinks that earning money is a bonus that players can get from experiencing the fun of battle, exploration, and story in the Eizper realm. This game has a multi-tier weapon and armor system. Additionally, Eizper Chain has a multiplayer system that makes it more exciting to be played and keeps players from getting bored. This multiplayer system is also one of the things that will enable them to implement an esports element into the game.

Eizperians, are you one of those players excited to welcome the future of gaming, or are you skeptical about blockchain technology and think it’s unnecessary?
